Cliptyd Privacy Policy

Effective date: 1 November 2026

In short: Cliptyd keeps your clipboard history on your iPhone and nowhere else. It has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and it does not send any data to us or to anyone else.

Who we are

Cliptyd is an iPhone app and keyboard made by Chinazom Emeregbam ("we", "us"). If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at cliptyd@gmail.com

What Cliptyd stores

Cliptyd saves the text you copy, so you can paste earlier copies and not only the latest one. It keeps up to 20 recent items. This history is stored only on your device, in storage shared between the Cliptyd app and the Cliptyd keyboard.

Cliptyd also stores a few simple settings on your device, such as whether to save automatically when the app opens.

What Cliptyd does not do

Why the keyboard asks for Full Access

iOS requires "Allow Full Access" for a keyboard to read what you copy and to share its saved history with its app. We use it only for those two things. Cliptyd does not use Full Access to connect to the internet or to transmit any data.

The keyboard works for typing without Full Access, but it cannot save or show your clipboard history without it.

Clipboard access in the app

When you open Cliptyd, it can save what you most recently copied. iOS may ask whether Cliptyd may paste from other apps, and you can choose Allow or Don't Allow at any time in Settings > Cliptyd > Paste from Other Apps. You can also turn this automatic saving off inside the app.

Sensitive information

Cliptyd saves text you copy, which could include sensitive text such as a password if you copy one. Anything saved stays on your device. You can delete any item by swiping on it in the app or pressing and holding it in the keyboard, or delete everything with "Clear all". Uninstalling Cliptyd deletes its saved history from your device.

Backups

Your device or iCloud backups, which you control through your Apple settings, may include Cliptyd's stored data. We do not have access to those backups.

Shortcuts

If you use the "Save to Clipboard History" action in the Shortcuts app, the text you pass to it is passed to Cliptyd on your device and saved in your history in the same way.

Children

Cliptyd is not directed at children and does not collect personal information from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above. If a change affects how your data is handled, we will tell you in the app.
